An Introduction to Go Geothermal Ltd

At Go Geothermal Ltd, we believe that renewable energy (in particular Ground and Air Source energy) has a place in the UK as a viable energy resource. Go Geothermal Ltd offers a wide range of renewable energy systems that reduce Co2 in the environment, and thus replaces a reliance on expensive fossil fuel alternatives often used for energy.

We are the one stop shop for all things Ground and Air Source, and to complement our renewable energy offering, we also stock and distribute products for Biomass, Under Floor Heating and MVHR.

We work closely with our customers and have adapted our entire offering to suit the needs of those we work with. Go Geothermal Ltd is owner operated, proudly independent within the UK and not bound by the red tape of large multinationals. This allows us to hold a significant stock profile and manage product ranges as we see fit, enabling us to continually provide a first class service.

Our History

Find out more about the history of Go Geothermal Ltd from inception way back in 2006, all the way to now!

2006

Go Geothermal Ltd is Founded

Go Geothermal Ltd was founded when its like-minded owners had a vision and a belief that renewable energy should be a viable option for the UK. This vision in particular was centred on Ground Source Heat Pump Solutions and is the focus of our company’s mission to bring more renewable energy sources to use in the UK.

2008

Go Geothermal Ltd Joins the GSHP Association

Go Geothermal Ltd is proud to have received the “stamp of approval” by becoming a member of the Ground Source Heat Pump Association.

The GSHP Association is the focal point for business interests in the Ground Source Heat Pump industry.

The purpose of the Association is:

  • To share best practice and develop and industry approved technical standards, training criteria and codes of practice
  • To promote the highest standards of integrity, professionalism and technical competence within the ground source energy industry
  • To represent the ground source heating & cooling industry, promoting sustainable use of Heat Pump technology and engaging with government and other bodies to influence relevant policy making.

2009

Chilton Warehouse

In 2009, Go Geothermal Ltd took a significant step forward by moving to its first dedicated office and warehouse in Chilton, County Durham. This relocation marked an important milestone in the company’s growth, providing a specialised space to support its expanding operations and better serve its customers.

The new facility in Chilton enabled Go Geothermal Ltd to streamline logistics, improve inventory management, and enhance overall efficiency, laying a strong foundation for future development in the Ground Source Heat Pump industry.

2010

Midlands Commercial Office Opens in East Drayton

Fast-forward four years to 2010 where we opened our commercial office in East Drayton, near Retford. The opening of our Midlands office was thanks to steady growth over the last four years. Opening our commercial office really paved the way for introducing renewable energy sources to a range of different customers across many industries.

2011

HQ and Logistics Move to Newton Aycliffe

In 2011, Go Geothermal Ltd relocated its headquarters and logistics operations to a new facility in Newton Aycliffe. This strategic move provided the company with a more expansive and modern space to accommodate its growing business needs.

The Newton Aycliffe location served as the hub for Go Geothermal Ltd operations, supporting enhanced logistical capabilities and fostering increased efficiency in handling customer demands.

Go Geothermal Ltd remained at the Newton Aycliffe site until 2023, when it transitioned to an even more advanced headquarters to support its continued expansion and innovation in the Air and Ground Source Heat Pump industry. The new facility has significantly increased our stock holding capacity, enabling us to better meet customer demand.

2021

Enertech Acquisition

Enertech Group acquired Go Geothermal Ltd with the agreement that Tim and Sean would continue running the business and that the brand name would be retained.

Negotiated almost entirely during the Covid-19 pandemic via MS Teams, this acquisition was NIBE’s first fully virtual deal. The parties finally met in person in Sweden in January 2022.

As part of the deal, CTC Heat Pumps were integrated into Go Geothermal Ltd operations, with the company taking full responsibility for all aspects of the brand.

2023

New HQ in Newton Aycliffe

After 16 years of growing the Go Geothermal Ltd business, we opened a larger new HQ in Newton Aycliffe to further our growth.

With the updated HQ came new members of the team, and opportunities for us as a business. We now provide an endless range of renewable energy products and services to fit all of our customer’s needs.

We pride ourselves on working alongside our customers and will always put their needs first as we continue to grow.

2024

New head office and warehouse

Go Geothermal has responded to the ever-growing demand for renewable energy solutions by opening a new head office and warehouse in the North-East of England.

We have been able to further increase our extensive product range following the opening in September 2023 of new premises in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham.

This has enabled Go Geothermal to double the size of our previous premises in Newton Aycliffe, and the new warehouse in particular provides us with the ability to increase our stock holding by three and half times – equating to £1.6 million worth of renewable energy products, with space to grow to £5 million.

The premises at Maple Way, Newton Aycliffe, will help Go Geothermal maximize distribution into Scotland as well as the rest of England and Wales, and is complemented by our existing commercial office in the Midlands.

2024

New Sales and Retail Space Opens in the Midlands

Go Geothermal continues its expansion with the opening of a new, larger sales and retail space in Retford, Nottinghamshire. Less than a year after doubling the size of our head office and warehouse in the North East of England, we moved from our old base in East Drayton to a spacious 2,600 square feet premises in St John Street, Retford town centre, doubling the size of our previous office.

The new premises includes a dedicated training room where engineers can receive nationally accredited heat pump installation training, supporting the transition from fossil fuel heating to renewable energy.
