Larger sales and retail space
Go Geothermal is continuing its expansion by opening a new, larger sales and retail space in the Midlands.
Less than a year after doubling the size of our head office and warehouse in the North-East of England, we have now also moved to new premises in Retford, Nottinghamshire.
We have our old base in East Drayton to take up occupancy in 2,600 square feet premises in St John Street, in the town centre. This is double the size of its previous commercial office.
The office was formally opened by the Mayor of Retford, Councillor David Naylor, on 8th July.
As well as being the base for the Go Geothermal UK sales, procurement and technical teams, the new office also has a retail showroom, which features four different domestic and commercial heat pumps, including a working version of the company’s exclusive, ground-breaking CTC 700 series air source heat pump.
The showroom will be open each weekday, with Saturday morning openings planned in the future, enabling shoppers to browse products on offer.
There is also a dedicated training room where engineers looking to make the transition from fossil fuel heating to renewable energy will receive nationally accredited heat pump installation training.
The new office was chosen for its central location close to the train station and with good public transport links, reducing the need for cars. Customers with electric vehicles who visit will have access to complimentary EV charging while discussing their heat pump options for their home.
Go Geothermal Executive Director Tim Williams, who originally set up the company in Retford with his fellow Director Sean Sowden, said: “Sean and I both come from Retford, so we are delighted to have been able to expand our presence in the town as part of the company’s continued growth.
“With domestic and commercial customers switching to renewable energy technology ahead of national net zero targets, it is vital they have access to the latest products and expert technical advice.
“We will be able to talk them through the journey as a homeowner or business looking to decarbonise and advise on the products which will best meet their needs.”
Councillor Naylor said: “It was such a pleasure to be invited to open the Retford office of Go Geothermal. This company is at the forefront of the latest green technology providing heat pumps and many other eco-friendly products. As we all know, the future is green as we move away from the old fossil fuels and I wish Go Geothermal all the best going forward.”
In September 2023, Go Geothermal moved its head office and warehouse to Newton Aycliffe, County Durham. This provided the company with the ability to increase its stock holding by three and half times – equating to £1.6 million worth of renewable energy products, with space to grow to £5 million.
Go Geothermal also recently launched Go Green Academy, the UK’s first BPEC-accredited mobile training centre. In addition to two heat pump training centres in the North-East and Midlands, this means it is able to take training on the road for those seeking to become heat pump installers.
It is designed to provide flexible training opportunities across the country and encourage the industry to gain the skills needed to decarbonise homes and buildings in line with UK plans to become Net Zero by 2050.
