Meet the Team Running the Great North Run for Three Incredible Charities

This September, three members of the Go Geo team will be lacing up their running shoes and taking on the Great North Run, all in aid of three life-changing charities. Liam, Abbie and Scott are each running for causes close to their hearts, and we couldn’t be prouder to support their journey.

Liam Huckerby – Running for Sands (Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Charity)

Liam, our Internal Sales Manager, has been roped into the run this year thanks to some gentle (or not-so-gentle!) persuasion from our Marketing Apprentice, Abbie. But his motivation quickly turned as he chose to run in support of Sands, a charity that supports families through the devastating loss of a baby.

Sands works nationally to improve bereavement care, raise awareness about baby loss, and fund research to save babies’ lives. It’s a cause that touches countless lives – including those within our own team.

Liam shared:

“I’m running to honour the important work Sands does and to help make a difference for families who need support during unthinkable times.”

Every step he runs is a tribute to the strength of grieving families and the vital work Sands continues to do.

Abbie McMorris – Running for Make-A-Wish UK

Abbie, our Marketing Apprentice and all-around motivator, is running for Make-A-Wish UK, an incredible charity that grants life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. Whether it’s meeting their hero, going on a dream holiday, or having a magical experience – these moments bring joy, strength, and hope.

Abbie says:

“I chose to support Make-A-Wish UK because every child deserves to experience joy, especially when facing such tough circumstances. If I can raise funds to make just one wish come true, every mile will be worth it.”

Let’s help Abbie grant more magical wishes for children who need it most.

Scott Foxall – Running for Samaritans

Our Warehouse Manager, Scott, will be tackling the 13.1-mile run once again in support of Samaritans – a charity that offers a vital lifeline to anyone struggling to cope. With mental health challenges on the rise, Samaritans provides 24/7 support to those in crisis, listening without judgment and offering hope when it’s needed most. Scott is proud to be running for a cause that helps so many.

After completing last year’s run in 2 hours and 48 minutes, Scott’s aiming to beat his time in 2025!

“Samaritans is always there when people need to talk. I’m running to help make sure that support is always available.”

Help Scott raise funds for Samaritans and spread awareness about the importance of mental health support.
